The views were lovely, and we had a good family day out at Christmas, with everyone from the little kids to their grandparents. The paths were so muddy that the pram struggled, and the children were disappointed not to see the pigs, who must have been away for winter. Parking is expensive, though there's no entry charge. The cafe is basic, but the staff were helpful.

There's a sweet shop and a farm shop, plus food and drink for all tastes. We had a brilliant day out with the family. The play area is top class for children of all ages, and you can ride a small gauge railway around the park. The municipal golf course is sensibly priced.

The scenery is beautiful, though the woodland can be a bit easy to get lost in. It'll be better once the work is finished. The little train is a cute idea, especially with a child. Parking costs more than Google says: it's £1.50 for the first 90 minutes, then £3.

There are lots of paths for dog walks and plenty for children to do. We couldn't get lunch at the small dog friendly deli because it was packed, so we bought something elsewhere and ate outside. Then the rain came and we had to dash for cover. Some umbrellas or another kind of shelter outside would help people with dogs make better use of the space. There's only one dog friendly place to eat, though dogs are allowed in the lovely chocolate shop, where you can sit down for a lovely hot chocolate. There are other places to eat and drink too. The car park is a bit expensive.

There's so much lovely nature and plenty of places for a picnic, with lots of little adventures to enjoy. Haigh Woodland Park is, in my opinion, the best place for families to spend free time. The mini golf, playground, train and restaurants are amazing. The hotel looks impressive from outside. I didn't go in, but through the windows it looked very elegant and clean. I recommend it.
