Number Fifteens of Swinley

When I pulled back the sheets early in the morning to get ready for work, the bed was crawling with bed bugs. There were blood spots where I’d squashed them. I called the pub to let them know. The bar lady apologised and said the manager would get back to me, but I never heard anything. Five days later I’m covered in hundreds of very itchy, blistering bites, and I’ve already taken 11 Piriton antihistamines. I stayed one night last week. This place is filthy and shouldn’t be renting out rooms. Stay at your own risk. I posted a similar review last week, but it was taken down. I’ll keep posting because I don’t want anyone else to go through the same thing.

This was good value and in a good location for my walk along the Leeds to Liverpool canal. The building is very nice, full of character, and the staff were friendly. I didn’t try any beers, as I went to bed early before setting off to continue the walk. I couldn’t fill in the hotel book because there was no pen, but I’d stay again if I’m in Wigan.

I paid £60 to stay last night and had no heating or hot water. I was really upset, and they didn't offer me a refund or anything. It wasn't the best stay, though somehow it was the best.

We left that evening after finding there was no hot water or heating in the room. There was also a power cut, which seemed rather convenient, almost like an excuse for not providing either. Terrible place, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
