We had a great time in this cottage. It was clean and neat, with more space than we expected and an interesting touch in every room. The house is lovely, and so is the peaceful village, with really nice neighbours.

The enclosed garden gave our two dogs room to roam safely, and they loved it. Inside, the cottage was roomy, well supplied with everything we needed, and had lots of quirky details. The location was just right, and the hosts and facilities were wonderful. We couldn't fault The Cherries.

The unusual decorations were a lovely touch, and it was nice coming back to a comfortable cottage after a day out. There’s plenty to see nearby, and Yorkshire makes a great area to explore from here. It feels rural and peaceful, yet York city centre is still easy to reach. We loved staying here.

We spent a lovely weekend at The Cherries with our family of five and our dog, Brüno. After exploring Castle Howard and York, the comfy beds, good shower and cosy, quirky rooms made for a welcome rest. The cottage had everything we needed for a home-from-home stay, and the pretty enclosed garden was a lovely place to sit with a cuppa and relax. Thanks for a wonderful visit. There was plenty to keep us entertained, from the games room to the croquet set and rackets in the garden shed. My five-year-old also enjoyed playing in the lovely garden. The house is roomy and comfortable, with all the equipment we needed. It’s also an easy drive to York Park and Ride and nearby attractions.
