We arrived on our motorcycles after spending the day touring the New Forest, and stopped at The Sheaf of Arrows pub across from La Fosse for a refreshing pint in the shade before checking in. La Fosse sits on a lovely village square in Cranborne. Mark welcomed us, and our room was very comfortable, with a fan that was much appreciated in the heat. We'd seen plenty of good comments about Mark's cooking and were keen to try it. Dinner was relaxed, with no sense of being hurried, and Mark talked us through the menu. We were delighted with our choices. His touch with the food is delicate, and the meal was amazing. Breakfast the next morning was just as delicious. The place has a laid-back boutique feel, and Mark has combined that with top-class food and hospitality. Good luck for the future, we'll happily stay again. Many thanks.

Mark is a great host and chef, and we'd suggest booking dinner ahead since it can fill up quickly. It's served downstairs in a tastefully decorated dining room, with fresh, original food made mostly from locally sourced produce, plus a nice wine list and local cheeses. Really good value too, and a treat to eat. The B&B is charming and set in a quaint Dorset village, well placed for events at the Ancient Technology Centre. Thanks to Mark and the whole team for making our stay so enjoyable. We'll be back!

We loved the cocktails in the garden before dinner, and the food and wine selection were beautiful. Breakfast had a very good choice and the service was great. The rooms and bathrooms were lovely too. The location is excellent, and Mark and Emmanuelle were especially friendly. Definitely somewhere to stay and eat. We'll be back as soon as we can.

A cozy, friendly place with lovely breakfast and dinner, including a range of vegetarian dishes and alcohol-free drinks. It's right on the Jubilee trail, and the We out here festival is reachable on foot in about an hour along the trail. We love it here. Thanks to Mark, the host and chef, and his fantastic team 💚

We traveled a long way to eat here because of the high ratings, so it was a shame the meal didn't work out. We were left in a corner by the fire when we arrived, then waited quite a while to be seated even though most tables were empty. I'm not sure why we couldn't have sat at a table straight away. The food was poor. It was unseasoned, and my pie had so much liquid it was more like soup. The staff were pleasant and friendly, but we had to ask for our empty glasses to be refilled and for napkins. Those little details matter. I paid in cash and wasn't given my change. In the end we left and went for a drink at the pub across the road. Personally, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.
