The cabin was beautiful, and I loved the hot tub. It was warm just how I like it. The staff were lovely, attentive, and quick to help. Special mention to Josie, who made my friend’s birthday feel extra nice with a free prosecco and a card from the forest team. Food service was quick too. Still, three nights felt overpriced, and I probably wouldn’t come back for that reason, which is a shame. Prices for everything seemed crazy, and there weren’t free activities apart from a quiz night. The free Wi-Fi was poor, so watching films or keeping kids entertained meant paying £45 for premium, which I think is too much. The website doesn’t explain pottery painting well. The adult session had the same limited selection as the kids’, with animals for children and no mugs, bowls, or plates for adults. I don’t know what I expected, but it wasn’t that. Small, medium, and large items all cost the same when booking online, and the paint needed refilling. We had to come back an hour after our booked time because it was too busy, and there was nowhere to sit or a table reserved for us, even though we booked it with the holiday. The oven smelled terrible, the toilets didn’t flush well, and there were a couple of cobwebs, so I’m not sure the cleaning was up to standard. My experience was average and below what my friends and I expected, though the cabin was lovely and there wasn’t anything too bad to say about the place we were staying. The staff were amazing despite all this. I hope they improve the pricing, free activities, and the brief, simple website.

The cabin, views, hot tub, and nearby walking trails made for a fantastic stay. The cabin was comfortable and inviting, and there were plenty of activities to keep us entertained. The staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and ready to listen or help. It’s pet friendly too. I had an incredible time overall and definitely plan to return. There were a couple of snags. We paid for the premium Wi-Fi and entertainment package, but many features didn’t work. We only found out when we arrived. They refunded half the package, though a warning beforehand would have been helpful. We also ordered a breakfast hamper, but several items meant to be in the fridge were missing. Staff brought most of them after I asked, but the sausages were still unavailable. They said they’d deliver them to our cabin, but after following up several times without success, I let it go. I was on holiday and didn’t want to stress about missing sausages.

The forest was beautiful, just what we needed before heading back to work and school. We had a brilliant long weekend at Blackwood Forest. The spacious accommodation and excellent hot tub were a hit, and the kids had so much fun. It could have been a little cleaner, including under the sofas, but it was okay. The staff were brilliant, helpful, and friendly. When my daughter had an accident, they were outstanding in looking after her.

The master bed gave me the best sleep I’ve ever had, and the cabin had beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows, stunning views, great food, and a fantastic hot tub. We came for a hen do, and it was the most beautiful getaway. The bride-to-be was in awe, and so were we. We weren’t expecting somewhere so lush for the price. If you want a chill vibe or a twilight Cullen fantasy, this is it. We really want to come back and can’t wait for another trip. The staff were the sweetest, genuinely kind and helpful. Any issues we had were sorted immediately, and even the helpline staff were top notch. The app and website are a bit buggy and not the easiest to use. One practical thing: if your car is slightly lowered, the very uneven roads to the cabins may be difficult to navigate, so double-check before travelling. That’s to be expected in the woods. I’m also waiting for a refund for a log starter kit we couldn’t actually add to our cabin. That was our fault, though it would’ve been nice to get a heads-up. I’ll update on how long the refund takes.
