The dining room has been put together beautifully, with lovely memorabilia on the old pub facade. We had a real treat here. Everything we ate was good, especially the duck confit, and the wine was good too. Service was polite, and the meal felt like very good value for the quality.

This is one of my favourite pubs, so I try to pop in whenever I’m in Winchester, even if it’s just for a quick drink. They serve my favourite beer, Gales HSB (Horndean Special Brew), and it’s always well kept and served at the perfect temperature. Have a look at the old school desks from the public school next door, repurposed for use in the pub.

The atmosphere and service at The Wykeham Arms were fantastic, and we’ll definitely be back. The Sunday roast was top quality, one of the best I’ve had in a long time. The beef was tender, rich, and cooked just right, while the chicken was full of flavour and beautifully done. Everything else on the plate was spot on too, from the roast potatoes to the Yorkshire pudding and gravy. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed Winchester, and Wykeham Arms was a lovely base for the visit. The old pub is beautiful, the accommodation was just right, with plush furnishings and lots of nice touches, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. Breakfast had a delicious range of choices. The Cathedral is only a few minutes away on foot, so it’s a great spot for exploring the city centre. We loved our visit there.

Our room was very comfortable and had a nice view. It was a great stay at a magnificent pub and inn, with first-rate food and a fantastic atmosphere. If you’re planning a visit to Winchester, I highly recommend it. And if you stay at the inn, get the breakfast.
