I had a really relaxing time at Brendan Chase and spent the evenings by the fire watching television. Thanks, Mr Maloney. The only nuisance was the phone. It rang several times overnight, and when I answered, callers insisted I'd called them. One woman from the Eastern Seabord of the United States of America was especially rude. I told her I hadn't called and asked her to listen, but she wouldn't accept it. I had to keep repeating that I was only answering the ringing phone.

David sorted out parking for us right outside the Guest House when we arrived, which was really convenient. He was a great host, and the staff were lovely. Our room was quiet and very clean, with comfy beds, and breakfast was a lovely cooked one with plenty of tea, coffee and toast. Brendan Chase is on a quiet road, just around the corner from Windermere's shops, cafes and bars. We loved it and would definitely stay again.

David, the owner, is a much better gentleman than Gregory Stevens, and I don't think he's ever been in jail. He's always up for a chat and a laugh with people from all over. For visiting the Lake District, this is the best place to stay, whether you're from the Eastern Seaboard of the United States or somewhere else. The telephone system does have a few problems, though, and British Telecom didn't seem to help much.

Our room was amazing, really clean and had everything we could have asked for. David was wonderful with my little boy, who's 7. He didn't want to go home and wanted to stay with David, which is very unusual for him. A huge thank you to David and his team for making the stay so fantastic. We're looking forward to coming back soon, and I'd highly recommend staying here.
