We visited on Sunday 8th March PM, and were amazed by the lovely refurbishment. Angela and her husband have put so much thought into it, and the pub is cosy enough that we were actually playing musical chairs lol. The Sunday Roasts were delicious, the vegetables cooked perfectly, and the portions were big. There were wonderful beers to choose from too. This is a real credit to the current owners and all the hard graft they've put in to make such a comfortable pub/hotel for people to enjoy. My ex-partner lives in the area, and this pub was a regular spot for us ten years ago, with good beer and excellent food. We'll be back next visit. All the best, Graham (South Manchester).

The downstairs is laid out lovely, and the staff are friendly. It's a proper boozer, with absolutely brilliant Guinness, and the prices are really reasonable for the area. I can't comment on the rooms beyond downstairs. It's just away from the tourist traps, and a must visit in my opinion.

The staff were really nice, breakfast was lovely, and the place is right by pubs, restaurants and the rest. My clean room had a view of the lake over the buildings opposite. The shower could've been better, but it worked, so only a tiny issue. I'd definitely stay again.

We didn't stay overnight, but came for a lovely Sunday lunch. I had the steak and ale pie and my husband had roast lamb. Both were delicious. It's dog friendly, with a really cosy feel and an open fire, and the staff are very nice. Would definitely recommend!

We stayed two nights, from 30th October to 1st November, with breakfast. The location couldn't be more perfect, just a two-minute walk from the lake and close to shops, bars, cafes and places to eat. Parking was available when we booked a double with ensuite. The room was lovely and had all the basics, including a TV, kettle, tea and coffee supplied daily. Breakfast had a great choice, from cereals to a full English, with vegetarian options too. We'd definitely come back.
