The room was very clean, and the service was good. Helen, who took care of our room, deserves a special mention for her work. The location is great too, close to Windermere station and an easy walk from the high street.

Room 4 was cosy and worked well for a short break when we mainly needed somewhere to sleep. It’s a quick walk to the shops for essentials, and I liked the bedding. The mini fridge, wine glasses, corkscrew and usual tea and coffee were thoughtful extras. There’s a standing fan, though it made getting to the wardrobe awkward because of the room layout. The en suite is small but fine for a few days. Streaming services were easy to access, just remember to log out. Keybox entry was simple, and we’d stay again.

Ruth, the owner, was so kind and welcoming and helped us get settled. Our room felt like home, with clean, well organised decor and plenty of storage. It also had tea, coffee, a kettle, mini fridge and toiletries. There’s free parking in front if you’re lucky, otherwise the rail station is a two minute walk away and has reasonably priced parking. We’ll definitely come back.

We liked the view from the window, and Room 4 had a mini fridge and wine glasses, little touches you don’t always get in a guest house. The room was otherwise perfect, though the mattress could use replacing. We found a space on a nearby street, since the guest house has no official parking. Self check-in went fine, but I’m still undecided about it and do miss being greeted in person. The location in Windermere is perfect, and the two nights were worth the price.

The rooms are small, as you’d expect in a Victorian building, and may surprise anyone used to US-sized rooms. Still, everything was spotless and the room, bed and bathroom were top quality. There’s a well stocked coffee tray with decaf and regular coffee, tea, hot chocolate and biscuits, plus a tray for muddy walking boots. The radiator drying racks came in handy, and wine glasses with a corkscrew were provided too. There’s TV and WiFi, and the public car park is five minutes away with overnight parking available. The place is handy for all of Windermere, and locals at the pub also recommended the taxi service advertised in the room.
