The downstairs changes have made Branfell cottage so much brighter and nicer to spend time in. The kitchen is much improved, opening up the stair area brings in more light, and the bathroom feels more modern too. We used to stay here for years before covid and loved how peaceful and semi-remote it is. That big hill is quite a workout at the end of the day, especially after eating out, cream teas and ice creams.
It looks lovely, but £1300 for a week seems steep when I can get an all-inclusive week in a 4-star hotel in Greece for three people for that. Still, if people are happy to pay it... 😀
Handy Tesco Metro nearby makes it easy to pick up anything missing, and there really isn't much else to fault. A few basics like spare loo roll, hand soap and cooking oil weren't there. Otherwise, it's a great little cottage, well placed for Bowness-on-Windermere and local walks.
