Christine makes a delicious, generous breakfast, with the Full English especially popular and lighter choices available too. The couple who run this B&B genuinely welcome guests into their home, and the place is spotless without feeling clinical. It’s a fantastic break, and I’d definitely recommend it. Shops, cafes and restaurants are only a few minutes away, with plenty of attractions nearby. I’d also recommend the local buses, which make it easy to travel the narrow roads and take in the views. They have a 5-star food hygiene rating.

We had a great stay at this lovely little guest house in Windermere. Peter and Christine gave us a very warm welcome. Our room faced the Park opposite and had loads of storage, drawers and hanging space, handy when the weather keeps changing and you need different clothes. I really enjoyed having tea in bed and watching TV in the afternoon while rain fell and the wind blew autumn leaves from the trees. It felt oddly life affirming. The breakfasts were lovely too, and set us up for the day’s walking.

We stayed three nights in room 4, the Chocolate Room, and it was so cosy, with a double bed, wardrobe and en suite. There was a kettle, tea and coffee, plus freshly made shortbread that was to die for! The town is just a two minute walk away, and Bowness is about 15 minutes on foot. Breakfast is included, with a Full English as standard and other options on request. There’s always juice, cereal, fresh fruit and yoghurt too. No children or dogs are allowed, so it stays peaceful. Couldn’t recommend it more, and we’ll definitely be back.

Christine and Peter were warm and welcoming from the start of our holiday to the end. The place was very clean and in a great location, and breakfast was fabulous. We’ll definitely return and highly recommend it.
