Breakfast was delicious, and I really appreciated that they catered for gluten-free choices. Our room at the Puddle Duck lodge was very clean and nicely decorated. David and Jenny were so kind and welcoming. We had a wonderful stay and I'd highly recommend it.

For a solo trip, this was a last-minute booking I'm really glad I made. Check-in was easy, and the place is cosy. My top-floor room stayed warm all night, and George (dog) made the trip feel a bit more special. You're within walking distance of most local shops, pubs and restaurants, but the place itself isn't on a busy road. Breakfast came in a wholesome little basket, with exactly what I needed to get the day started.

The garden was stunning, and I loved sitting out there in the afternoon sun with my book. Puddle Duck lodge is a darling guest house, really close to the centre of Bowness, so everywhere was a quick walk. I was in the Beatrix room, with a gorgeous view over the garden. It was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Jenny and David were welcoming and helpful throughout. Breakfast was fresh, and the homemade strawberry compote was delicious.

We were there over the Aug 2025 bank holiday weekend, staying in The Boat House suite. It was spacious and nicely decorated, and we'd definitely recommend the place. The front garden is beautiful, and the quiet street is only a short walk from exploring Bowness. David & Jenny were very hospitable, bringing us a generous breakfast hamper each morning. The homemade preserves were a lovely touch, and they gave us helpful local recommendations for Sunday roast. Thankyou :)
