Rocklea Guest House

Liz and Chris made our stay especially good. They knew the area well and suggested walks, hikes and activities that suited our interests and the weather. The delicious breakfast was a treat every morning, and the rooms were lovely and clean, with very comfortable beds. It's on a quiet road by a stream, about a 10-minute walk from the train station and conveniently between Windermere and Bowness. We had a wonderful four nights at Rocklea and would highly recommend it. Thank you, Liz and Chris!

We loved the breakfasts, freshly cooked by Chris each morning with lots of choice. Liz and Chris were welcoming hosts, and our room was bright, clean and comfortable. Fresh milk and water were replenished in the fridge every day. Rocklea is within walking distance of Windermere town, with its cafes and restaurants, and Bowness and the lake are about 15-20 minutes away on foot, with plenty of pubs and restaurants there too. Buses stop at different places along the lake. I'd highly recommend staying here and would come back.

The twin room downstairs had a lovely garden view, and the sound of water from the brook was so relaxing. The beds were really comfortable, and breakfast was tasty with a nice range to choose from. Liz and Chris were great hosts. Liz is passionate about the Lakes and gave us lots of helpful information on places to go and eat. It was my first time there and I thought it was spectacular. I'd highly recommend the B&B and hope to come back. Thank you, Liz and Chris x

The location is peaceful, just off the main road and between Windermere and Bowness. The rooms were spacious, lovely and comfortable, and Liz and Chris were perfect hosts. There was a great breakfast selection, and I'd personally recommend the freshly cooked pancakes. I can't recommend the place or the people highly enough.
