Virginia Cottage Guest House

Bramble was especially pleased with the sausage at breakfast, which was delicious and very good value. We had four lovely days here, and our room was spotless with all the facilities we needed. Angus and Sherry were fantastic hosts and did everything they could to make the stay pleasant. We’ll definitely stay again.

The owners really go above and beyond, and the breakfast is amazing. This is the best guest house I’ve stayed in. It’s in a fantastic spot near the boating lake, and I wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

Dexter loved it too, and it was very dog friendly. Our room, number 2, had a fantastic four-poster bed. The location is right in the heart of everything, breakfast was £10 a head and better than the local cafes, and the price was very reasonable. The owner was friendly and accommodating.

The hosts were really welcoming and checked in to see if I needed anything or fancied a chat. They knew the area well and had plenty of suggestions for things to do. My spacious room was clean and warm, with a big comfortable bed, heating and a large, modern bathroom. It’s an easy two-minute walk to the waterfront, and the hotel is dog friendly. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants nearby, plus easy public transport around the area and back to the train station. I stayed four nights and had a lovely time.
