I paid £130 for my stay and was disappointed by the room and how reception dealt with my concerns. There were spider webs in the corners and along the walls, plus several visible cracks. The room felt neglected and unclean. I only noticed the shower dispenser or tray had no shampoo after I was already wet. That basic amenity should have been checked before the room was given to a guest. When I politely mentioned both problems, reception showed no apology or concern and just offered me a bottle to take back upstairs. The lack of care and professionalism made things worse. For the price, I expected better cleanliness, maintenance, and service. This stay didn’t meet even basic expectations, and I wouldn’t stay there again.

Breakfast was incredible. I had salmon and scrambled egg on toasted sourdough. I needed somewhere for one night before a birthday party nearby, and this worked perfectly. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were welcoming and helpful, and it was quiet despite being handy for the main A roads.

The homemade food is amazing, with generous portions, and all the staff are so friendly and welcoming. I’ve stayed for 4 nights over Christmas and new year, and this has become my favourite place to stay when travelling for work all over the UK. Hope I can come again soon.

The new rooms feel fresh and lovely, and the food is wonderful. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. It’s just off the A47, so it’s fairly quiet and convenient if you’re heading towards Peterborough or King's Lynn.
