The rooms were clean, in good shape and looked recently renovated. Blair Villa is within easy walking distance of town. We spent two nights there, but on arrival the first day there was no heating or alternative arrangement. They sorted it out when we asked on day two, otherwise we'd have cancelled and gone elsewhere. Breakfast came as a takeaway bag. There are nearby cafes where you can get a good breakfast, so I wouldn't pay for breakfast here.

The front sitting room has books and games, plus a lovely view across the bay where you can watch the ferries arrive. The owner gave us a really warm welcome. Our room was spotless with lots of nice details, and the bathroom was clean and fancy. A delightful place.

We could walk to everything we needed in Oban, and the property itself was gorgeous, full of character and beautifully decorated, with a fantastic view. My husband and I stayed two nights before our wedding in Appin. We arrived early and they kindly let us check in ahead of schedule. The clean, lovely room came with tea, coffee, and a mini fridge stocked with breakfast and snacks. Couldn't have chosen a better place.

Don't miss the upstairs guest room view across to Mull, it's such a treat. My wife and I stayed in May this year, and our hosts were welcoming and knew the area well. The continental breakfast was brought daily to our in-room fridge and was excellent. Our room and the shared guest areas were clean and tidy. We'll stay at Blair Villa next time we're in Oban.

Alec was welcoming and full of useful information during my two-night work trip. The room details, furniture and amenities were superbly thought through, and the panoramic guest room was a lovely space. It felt like a little luxury retreat, and it's rare to feel so genuinely welcomed and cared for. Can't wait to return to Oban and Blair Villa South. Thanks!
