The Laurels Guesthouse

The back garden view from the dining room is so peaceful, I could have sat there all day if I didn't have other things to do. Anna takes care of breakfast and your stay, and she's easy to chat with for ages. She knows the surrounding area and the bus services well, including routes to Oxford and on to London. My room was spotless and comfortable, though there wasn't much floor space, and the ensuite was also small. The shower had a single dial and took a little while to warm up, but then got hot. Check-in is at the main entrance, and the room has its own door for coming and going. Depending on where you need to catch a bus, it's a little out of the way from the town centre or high street, but not too bad. My stay was brief, though I'll check for a room here if I'm in the area again.

Ann is a lovely host and makes a great breakfast. I especially enjoyed the fried eggs and sausages. It's a very clean, friendly B&B, with double and single rooms at reasonable prices and discounts for longer stays. The double room I had was very well insulated. The only drawback was that the bathroom had no heating.

I spent two weeks here on a work trip. It was quiet and very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The room wasn't very big, but the shower was good. I'd definitely recommend staying here. Special thanks to Anna, the owner!

The breakfast was excellent and cooked to order, and parking was good. We got a clean, good-value room at the back, which was very quiet. We booked at the last minute and really enjoyed our stay. Our host was welcoming and helpful.
