Inn on the Broadway

The room had decent Wi-Fi and plenty of tea and coffee making stuff, and the shower was fine and hot. The bed was okay, though the bathroom was the smallest I’ve ever seen. A bigger person might find the space between toilet and sink cramped, but it was alright for me. I stayed one night at Inn on the Broadway. It’s right by the railway station and only a few minutes’ walk into town. Check-in was odd: I found a locked gate, called them, and someone arrived a few minutes later. The hallway, stairs and bedroom had clearly been refurbished, with new decor. Basic, but perfectly functional. No breakfast, though there are plenty of places nearby.

The place was clean and fairly tidy in its decor, but the rest of the stay was awful. We had back rooms, so the nightclub downstairs was the main noise for us. Our mate had a front room and barely slept because of the trains going bing bong and heavy traffic from the bus station across the road, with its six stops. There was no hot shower water late at night. Staff were unfriendly and didn’t seem to understand or care about our requests. They messed up my already small breakfast, and my roommate found a big blonde hair in his egg. They didn’t seem to care about that either. There were few clean towels, all with holes, and no clean bedsheets during the three days we were there. We wouldn’t stay again; the train station across the road looks more appealing. This place claimed to be the best B&B in Woking, which worries me.

For work nearby, I’ve stayed here a couple of times and enjoyed it each time. It’s clean, comfortable accommodation right in town and excellent value. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this B&B, especially to business travellers.

Room one was decent for the price, clean and with free Wi-Fi. The trouble is it’s on the route to all the other rooms, and the floors are wooden. You hear people coming and going, including anyone standing outside your door chatting at 3am.
