We’ll certainly stay here again next time we come down south. The breakfast was lovely, all freshly cooked, and the sausage and bacon seemed to come from a local butcher. We arrived very late after travelling from up north following work on a Bank Holiday Friday, and the host was friendly and had stayed up for us. I’d booked the wrong room, entirely my mistake, but she went out of her way to bring a zedbed and bedding to our room for my son, even though it was late. She then gave us breakfast free for our whole stay because of the mix-up. I thought that was exemplary service.

Nate the landlord was really friendly, and they were happy to leave potatoes off my roast when I asked. The pub is dog friendly and had the football on. There’s a wide choice on the menu, with good-sized portions. The food was fantastic and the dessert delicious.

There were 17 of us for a big family meal before a wedding, and finding a restaurant with room for a group that size can be difficult. The team at the Pheasant set aside a very pleasant area for us. Everyone had starters and mains, including people with special dietary requests, and the food was excellent. We were all served within just a few minutes of each other despite the size of the party. Compliments to the chef. The service was very good too, and we had a thoroughly decent meal. Well done, team.

We had an excellent stay and will definitely come again. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive, and everything was excellent value for money. There are plenty of plant-based and gluten-free options, and they’re happy to make adjustments. The food came out piping hot and was so tasty. The Full English breakfast was awesome too.

The room could use some improvement, but it was clean and comfortable, with a good selection of toiletries, tea and coffee. Even though it was beside the car park and restaurant/bar, it was very quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was great. It’s a lovely place to stay, close to London and several popular attractions. I’d recommend The Pheasant to friends.
