Travelodge Winnersh Triangle

The food was mediocre at best, and I had trouble flushing the loo, though the rooms themselves were perfectly acceptable. The location feels like the middle of nowhere, but the station is handy for getting to Reading and there’s ample parking. We were told the bar stays open 24 hours, but I was too tired to test that claim. I’d use the place again because the benefits outweigh the flaws.

Personal circumstances changed, so I had to check out soon after arriving. The older lady at reception was rude, abrupt and unprofessional, which is not what you expect. I would never stay again. The young girl who checked us in, though, was warm, polite and friendly.

I’ve stayed a few times. There’s plenty of parking, the staff are always nice, and the refurbished bar and restaurant look very good and fit in with other Travelodges. The Showcase Cinema is within walking distance. One concern: if the emergency cord in the disabled toilet is always tucked away out of reach, presumably to keep it away from children, a disabled person could have difficulty reaching it.

I was here for a training session, and the hotel was in a good location for a cheap price. The rooms were clean, tidy and very comfortable. Check-in let things down; it seemed to take forever just to make a key card. Dinner was terrible, basically a £15 microwave burger with pale, bland chips. Breakfast was a bit better, but for £10 I expected more choice.
