You should know this is a converted house, not a purpose-built guest house, and the stairs are very steep, which may not suit everyone. Noise carries easily between rooms. We could hear other guests late at night and early in the morning, and water dripping through the ceiling whenever the upstairs bathroom was used. The bathroom needs attention: the shower gel had clearly been used, there was spillage on the radiator and wall, and damp patches beside and above the window. The shower head was damaged and leaking, the sealant needs a proper clean, a tile was cracked and the toilet seat wasn't fitted properly. The toilet is so close to the bath that it's uncomfortable to use if you're over about 5'2". Our stay fell short because of the cleanliness, comfort and maintenance. The place needs deeper cleaning and better upkeep, and guests should be told more clearly about its limitations before booking.

The room was clean and nicely presented, with good facilities. Parking outside was easy, and staff communicated well both after booking and during the stay. Highly recommend.

Check-in was straightforward because the directions and access instructions were clear. At The Larches in Wolverhampton, I found the room spotless, well kept and homely, and the bathroom was just as clean and well equipped. The customer service was friendly and quick to respond, which made everything easy. A fantastic stay from start to finish, definitely 10/10. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Wolverhampton.

I've stayed here twice now. The room was lovely and very clean, with everything you need, plus a patio. I've booked another visit for the garden lodge in October. Definitely recommend.

The service was excellent. We had trouble getting in, and later needed Netflix reset, but both times the service desk sorted it within seconds of our call. The operator was attentive and responded so quickly. The entry code problem was our fault, to be fair. We stayed in the lodge, which was a real treat and a new experience for us. It's about a 20-minute walk from the bus station, a steady walk out of town, but well worth it. There was water damage to the bedroom floor by the clothes rail. It looked a bit unsightly, though it didn't affect our stay and didn't seem unsafe. Great value for money, and we'd highly recommend it. Thanks for such a good stay. We'll be back if you'll have us xx
