Premier Inn Wirral (Two Mills)

After two good meals, the third was an absolute joke. The chef couldn’t be bothered to toast a simple garlic bread. I sent it back and got the same thing again. When I complained, I was accused of swearing. Disgusting. It must have been a different chef, and the manageress may have been having a bad day, but she was incredibly rude. I’m disgusted.

We were told they were only serving hotel guests and booked tables, and the food wasn’t much better. When I asked the chef what he’d recommend, he said McDonald's! The staff had lacklustre attitudes and their banter was unprofessional and inappropriate. I sympathise with them, but as a guest I shouldn’t have heard or been told as much as I was. It was so disappointing that we left after one night. Nobody was at reception as we departed, and the website kept throwing us out. These weren’t the high standards I’ve come to expect from "premier" over the years. With new owners coming, I think they should have shut.

We stayed here for a visit to Chester Zoo, which is only 15 minutes away. The outside could use some updating, but every member of staff was amazing. They were friendly, helpful, always around, and had a laugh with us. They’re a real credit to the business.

After taking my wife, Sarah, to Chester Zoo for her birthday, we were glad to see the hotel after a day of wet weather and walking our legs off. We checked in, arranged dinner and breakfast, then headed to our room. It was very clean and tidy, with a really comfortable bed. After a quick shower we went down for drinks at the bar, then were shown to our restaurant table soon after. The food was lovely and service excellent. Back in the room, all the walking and food caught up with us, and we had a really good night’s sleep. Even the covid regs didn’t spoil the occasion, though the weather tried. We’ll book again next time we’re in the area.
