Breakfast had an awful atmosphere, and I felt rushed rather than at home. The manager was abrupt and came across as grumpy, which made the stay unpleasant. The room was tiny, with only a footstool to work at the desk, and the walls were so thin I could hear the person next door snoring. I stay in places around the UK regularly, and this was by far the worst one for me.

The hosts were incredibly lovely and willing to do anything for you, and the rooms were spotless. We missed the turning and couldn't place the location, which is the only reason for that comment. All in all, a really good stay.

Breakfast was a pleasure, with everything cooked well and high quality meat from a local butcher. The owner was friendly, chatty and thoughtful, and offered advice on parking, local services and facilities, among other things. My room and bathroom were immaculate and well equipped, and everywhere else looked just as clean and tidy, with good lighting. The young staff member doing the cleaning was very polite and friendly, and went out of her way to help. One of the best small hotels I've stayed in over the last few years.

The man I dealt with was friendly and helpful. I was working nearby and stayed one night. The room was immaculate, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept in. Easy 10 out of 10, I can't speak highly enough of it.

He got in a rage over a name change and was rude right from the start. I've never left a hotel so quickly in my life. Maybe it's fine in normal circumstances, but I'd avoid it after that experience.
