The room was spacious and comfortable, with everything I needed, though a bit dated. Staff were really friendly and the service was great. There’s a bar with snacks, and dinner and breakfast are available as add-ons. I skipped those on my one-night visit. The big problem was the noise through the walls and ceilings. It's a family hotel, and I don't blame anyone for children making noise, but the building seems to carry every sound. Upstairs movement was like a herd of elephants, the plumbing rumbled for ages when the next room flushed, and being on the ground floor by the entrance path meant I heard people coming and going. Still, I got a good night's sleep after 11pm, and the stay did the job. A Genius discount and the Booking.com online booking discount also made it the cheapest available hotel near Street when I needed a room.

We had two spacious, comfortable rooms, and the location was perfect. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was great. Breakfast especially deserves a mention, it was first class. Lauren went the extra mile for us during our stay. Top marks.

The staff were polite and really helpful, and we slept quietly. We spent two nights here and had a very pleasant stay. The large rooms look and feel relaxing. We felt encouraged to return when we're in the area again.

The setting and staff more than made up for rooms that felt a little bare and utilitarian. It was a shame there wasn't shampoo in the bathroom, though the restaurant served a great cooked breakfast. The cot for our baby was good quality, which was nice.

The hotel was very clean and nice, and it clearly had been refurbished recently. The Wi-Fi was poor, and I couldn't have worked if I'd needed to. We were there during half term, so it was quite noisy. The location is great for the Wookey Hole attractions, Wells and Somerset in general.
