Hodsock Priory

I was at a friend's wedding and stayed overnight in one of the courtyard rooms. The setting and building were beautiful, the food was excellent, from the canapés and meal to the late night pizza, and drink prices were reasonable. Above all, the staff were super friendly. The room was a little warm, though it was the hottest day of the year. I would've liked toiletries in the shower, but that's a very small complaint.

I've visited Hodsock Priory several times as a photographer, and it's always a pleasure to shoot there. The grounds are beautifully kept, and the elegant interiors have loads of natural light. The food was a highlight, from the canapés and wedding breakfast to the evening pizza. Lots of our guests told us how much they enjoyed their meals. The team worked hard during planning and on the day to make sure things ran smoothly and lived up to what we hoped for. India, our event co-ordinator, was especially kind, helpful and professional. She thought of everything, answered questions quickly and put us at ease. Hodsock Priory made our wedding everything we'd dreamed of and more. The house and grounds are beautifully maintained, the venue is stunning, and its history is fascinating. A Tudor gatehouse built for Henry VIII, what more could you want? If you want a beautiful exclusive wedding venue with great staff and delicious food, look no further.

The estate is beautiful and makes an excellent wedding venue. The drive along the long single-track road builds the suspense, and it's impressive at night. The signage from the main road could be better, especially in the dark. You'll need an appointment to view.
