We were travelling back from the Dordogne France with our touring caravan and two dogs. We arrived very tired, nearly midnight, and parked in the car park. My husband asked the travel lodge gentleman if we could stay the night. He was very pleasant, and we spent a very quiet night in the caravan. It cost £15. I’d highly recommend the place. Thank you.

The staff are great, and their service is what keeps us coming back. It’s a handy, cheap stopover when driving down the A1, and the busy services have a lot to offer, though at the usual high prices. Parking outside the hotel is limited, so people often park terribly next to your car. That seems hard to avoid given the place. The hotel feels aged, with a sort of spruced-up 90s look. Rooms are generally clean, though on my last stay I found a spot of blood on the duvet. I’ve also had trouble with inconsiderate guests. There doesn’t seem to be night patrol, and some guests clearly need a good night’s sleep. Door slamming and music spoiled the stay and made the next day’s drive difficult. For light sleepers, noise from inside is more of a concern than outside. If you want a room away from the A1, ask for an odd-numbered room. As far as I know, even-numbered rooms are at the rear and odd-numbered ones are at the front. Thin walls mean other guests can cause problems, so how well you sleep depends a lot on who’s nearby.

I’ve stayed here several times and can’t fault it. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean, and the staff are polite and friendly. What more could you want?

The staff were helpful and very polite. The place was very good, though a little dated. A table in the room would have been nice.

The room was clean and comfortable, though it was starting to show its age. The location is ideal as part of the service station complex, and the staff were super, friendly and welcoming.
