Roger and Jan have made a lovely, semi-secluded spot where you can properly relax. We stayed in the smallest of the three cottages, and it suited us perfectly. Downstairs had a modern kitchen and a living and dining room; upstairs were a single bedroom and bathroom. The original timber frames have been decorated around sympathetically. The breakfast hamper was just right. Booking and the follow-up messages were clear and hassle-free, and there’s ample street parking right outside. There are two pubs within 50 metres and a convenience store straight across the road. We were staying at this nearly 400-year-old self-catering place for the races at nearby Bangor on Dee. Now we’ve found this almost secret hideaway, we’ll return. Thoroughly recommend it.

We had a relaxed, lovely stay at the stableyard and will definitely be back as soon as we can. Roger and Jan were lovely hosts, and booking and communication were first class. The cottage was cosy, and the hamper basket was a really nice gesture. There’s a local shop across the road and two nice pubs nearby. We didn’t eat at the pubs, but the food looked and smelled great. Thanks for a perfect stay.

We had such a relaxed stay in the cottage, which was just right for us, tastefully furnished and very well equipped. The wonderful hamper kept us going for five days! Many thanks to Roger and his wife. The village is very pretty, with a lovely church, a river walk, a friendly village shop literally opposite the Stable yard, two nice pub-restaurants and lots of interesting places nearby to visit. We’re looking forward to coming back.

We’ve stayed here twice already and are looking forward to our next visit. The village setting is beautiful, and the accommodation met all our needs. If you have mobility issues, the larger cottage might suit better: it has fewer steps, an extra loo, and lets you avoid the cobbled entrance. It has loads of character, though it may be tricky for some to get around. Highly recommended.

The beds were really comfortable, and the bathroom was modern. We also made our own breakfast in the perfect kitchenette. It’s a lovely village to wander around, and the restaurant down the street was top notch. This place was outstanding for our visit, and we’ll definitely stay again.
