Travelodge

The room was clean, and check-in was easy. Reception staff were friendly when we arrived and again when we left. But the double bed was two singles pushed together without anything holding them, so they kept sliding apart during the night. I was in room 1 and barely slept: people passed right by, the door from reception into the hall kept banging, and traffic from the nearby dual carriageway was loud. That room needs soundproofing. There was only one disabled parking space, and a large 4x4 was using it without displaying a badge. Getting there was easy, but that wasn't a good start. The hotel could do with some money spent on it, especially the beds. Room 1 needs triple glazing and soundproofing in the walls. It's a shame, because the helpful, friendly staff are a real plus.

My room was large and at the back of the building, so it was very quiet overnight. The staff member at check-in was cheerful and pleasant. Parking was the downside: we were there for just 12 hours but had to pay for 24. The £5.50 wasn't extortionate, but after paying £87 for a 12-hour room, I felt parking should have been covered.

The room was spotless, and it was clear the staff take real pride in the Wrexham Travelodge. Everyone made me feel welcome and couldn't have done more. I'd happily recommend it and stay again. Thank you.

Clean, but very basic and rather dated, which is about what you'd expect at a motorway service area Travelodge. The pillows in the room were bulky and not very soft.
