Breakfast was a real highlight, with a choice of continental food or hot dishes. The room was warm when we arrived, clean and comfortable, with lovely decor and a nice bathroom. We found the place easily, parking was plentiful, and the staff greeted us warmly. We stayed one night on our way to Scotland and had a really pleasant visit. Just one small snag: the shower sometimes sent out sudden spurts of very hot water. I'd recommend this little place.

A lovely cosy pub with delicious food and great service. We sat in the dog-friendly bar, though there's a restaurant too. Highly recommended.

The restaurant was the standout for us, with a delicious menu. Don't miss the cheese and spinach soufflé, pear salad or toffee pudding! The staff were friendly and helpful too. Our room was on the small side, but clean and cosy, and it was a great place for a night or two.

A lovely setting for a country village pub, with period details and a good range of ales, including Esthwaite Ale. Service could have been a little livelier, though it was Wednesday lunchtime.

I came in planning to order tuna, but unfortunately it was on the menu today, so I went for the burger instead. It was amazing, cooked just right with a little pink in the middle. Big thanks to the Chef for getting it spot on. The place was clean, tidy and welcoming, and the price was reasonable. It's just off the M6 and easy enough to reach. I'll definitely come again.
