The roast beef was enormous, I couldn’t get through it, though my dog was glad to lend a hand. We came as a group on Sunday for lunch and a social catch-up, and I’m already thinking about coming back. It was my first time at this lovely pub, restaurant and guest house, which somehow I’d never tried before. The staff were spot on, friendly and happy to help. There’s a cosy bar, a decent-sized restaurant and a great function room, plus loads of grounds around the cricket club. I can picture it being lovely to sit outside in summer. Dogs are welcome too, which is always a bonus for me.

The White Swan has become a place full of good memories for us. We’ve celebrated birthdays, friendships and life there, and made friends for life. When my dad died suddenly, I was in shock and couldn’t drive to my family. The staff understood why I was so upset and treated me with real kindness and empathy. I’ve never forgotten that. We’ve also held various events there and stayed a couple of times. Every visit has been great, with the staff and chefs going above and beyond. The food is fabulous, especially Sunday lunch, and it feels like a home from home whether we’re there for a drink or a meal. The team really is the best. Thank you for being so lovely.

We both had a superb dinner, cooked fresh to order and served piping hot. I went for the delicious fish pie, my husband had sea bass, and we finished with lovely brownies. The portions were generous, and the friendly staff couldn’t do enough for us. A great pub, highly recommended.

It’s near Yeadon Tarn and the high street, so it works well for the airport or exploring the area. The prices are very reasonable for a place that feels high end, with cosy rooms and really good food. I’ve seen lots of well-run wedding, christening and funeral gatherings in the function room, along with other events that are all held to a high standard. A fantastic venue, with luxurious, scrumptious food and professional staff.

The pub downstairs was cosy, with good food and drinks, and the airport was close by. But I wouldn’t stay again, especially at this price. We were there before an early flight, and there wasn’t a proper check-in. We waited at the bar until someone was free to take us to the room. It was on the top floor with no lift, and it was very cold. There were two radiators, but only one was on, controlled by a timer at the pub. Once it switched off, the room got colder. I didn’t want to call the emergency number about it, and since we were leaving in the early hours, we just put up with it. There were cobwebs on the light fittings, a bag of rubbish had been left in the room, the bed wasn’t comfortable, and the headboard was at an angle. After our city break, I told a staff member we were coming to collect our car, which we’d paid extra to leave in the car park. She didn’t seem interested at all.
