The Green Room

We had a lovely farewell lunch for a colleague, with delicious food, fantastic desserts, and really nice staff. I couldn't find a vegetarian option on the Sunday Roast menu, but the staff looked after us well and we had a great time. Special thanks to Tracey for helping with parking. We'll be back soon!

I stayed one night and found the staff friendly and helpful. Finding the parking takes some effort: turn into the drive across from the Globe Crown, continue to the back, then turn right into the gravel area marked Green Room. You'll need to call for someone to open the door. The hotel is listed as four stars, but to me it felt more like one or two. My room was small, with an uncomfortable bed, though it was clean and had a nice bathroom and self-service coffee. Breakfast was included and excellent, a full English with juice and coffee. I paid 80 pounds.

The room was clean and really nicely presented, with a lovely towel design. The price was ridiculously low for it, and the place was very quiet despite being in a convenient town location. I think Lincoln owns it, and he's great. He called and left a message on Booking.com to check that everything was okay. A real gem, and it even has a fridge. Thanks, Green room! I'd love to come back with family.

A welcoming, cosy restaurant where the service is fantastic and the food is always great. We most recently had Christmas dinner, served piping hot in very generous portions, and it tasted amazing. I couldn't fault any part of the meal.
