I was here for a function, so I can't rate the rooms. The staff were exceptionally helpful and polite. Tea and coffee in the bar seemed reasonably priced, and the comfortable bar area was quiet for sitting in midweek, mid-morning.

The server was the best part of our visit. She was looking after about ten tables on her own and did a brilliant, attentive job under pressure. A big thank you to her for working so hard. We were a group of five for a manager's meal and arrived around 6 pm. It took about ten minutes to be seated, though our drinks and order were taken promptly. After that, the waits were far too long: starters took 10-15 minutes, mains came roughly half an hour later, and then we waited about 45 minutes for two desserts, the Bramley Apple and Blackcurrant Crumble Pie and Vegan Caramelised Biscuit Cheesecake. We eventually cancelled dessert and left at around 8:30 pm. Only after the meal did we hear there was a large group booking, possibly a Christmas party. The delays felt like poor management and understaffing, especially in such a busy season. The Manor felt overrated compared with all the talk about it. After this experience, I'm unsure I'd return or recommend it.

The friendly staff were a bright spot, but the room was disappointing. It was cramped and dark, with just one small window looking straight onto a brick wall. The furniture and decor were worn and very dated, which made the place feel neglected rather than classic. It's fine if you only need somewhere to sleep, but don't expect much atmosphere or a view. Paying 69 quid for that view doesn't feel good. The hotel has potential, but it needs some care.

We had a lovely family lunch at The Manor for our Father's 80th birthday. The portions were generous and the food was fantastic. The staff were so helpful, and communication while arranging everything was great. Thank you for making it a special birthday lunch.
