The room was cosy but spacious, very clean and nicely lit, with Christmas decorations and spare blankets. There was a good-sized bathroom, fast hot water and a huge bed, though the mattresses could use a topper or an update. The location was nice, around a 15-20 minute walk from the centre, with cafes about ten minutes away. Parking cost an extra £7. All in all, a wonderful stay!

For £40 on a last-minute booking, this was far better than I expected. Check-in was easy and quick, the room was clean and had enough amenities. You can walk to the centre, and there’s also a bus stop right outside. We especially liked the Smart TV, which let us watch Netflix. I’d happily recommend this guest house for a budget-friendly stay in York.

My partner and I really enjoyed our two-night weekday stay and would happily come back. Remote check-in was very easy, and our room was bright, spacious and lovely, with a comfy bed and decent pillows. There was a good-sized kettle, cups and a fridge, plus as much tea, coffee and milk as we wanted. The location was fantastic, with a 15-minute walk into the centre along the city wall. Buses run every hour, and Sainsburys and cafes are just a few minutes away.

The staff made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived, and the place was spotless and comfortable. We found Diamonds Guest House easy to locate, with only a short drive into York centre. It was our family's first visit to York and we had a memorable time. The price was very affordable, too. We loved staying here and would happily come back or recommend it.

The quick response to a late-night hot water problem really stood out. Ismail arrived within 10 minutes and fixed it straight away; he was kind and helpful, and the housekeeper was lovely too. The issue happened on our last night, after everything had worked fine for the first two days. We spent three nights in Room 3. It was clean, with a spacious spotless bathroom and comfortable beds. There was a mini fridge, kettle, tea, coffee, milk, a fan and a radiator. Downstairs, a lounge has a small kitchenette with a microwave, cutlery and tables, handy for quick meals, though cooking isn't allowed. The location worked well for us: a five-minute walk to a small area with shops and restaurants, and about 30 minutes on foot to York Minster. Check-in was by phone using the number on the door. The instructions were clear and it was easy, and they answered whenever we called. It was our first time in York, and we had a great stay. The price was very reasonable. We'd stay again and recommend it.
