Thursday quiz nights are a lot of fun, and they wrap up by 9, which is handy before a workday. I’m also a regular with the beer: the usual Brew York taps are joined by rotating choices, apparently about monthly. I go for the IPAs and sometimes a half of the more unusual stout. The flavours are always great, though I’ll admit I’m a Brew York fan. Yuzu Street’s food seems better here now than at its main place in town, which I think lost some talent as the company grew. It can feel pricey when friends or family visit, but that’s York these days, and it’s a nice pub.

I can’t speak to the rooms, since I haven’t stayed in them, but the pub is fantastic. There’s loads to choose from, and the staff are lovely. Keep it up! 👏

We stayed four nights over Christmas, and the room was cosy and just the right temperature. The staff were a delight, and the ghost story gave the place extra atmosphere. It’s about a 20-minute walk into the city centre.

You can stay here as well as eat and drink. The pub has come a long way from being a declining backwater, and now draws both locals and visitors. There’s good local beer and interesting food, too.

The pizza is fresh and really nice, so I’d recommend a visit. I’ve been here before and only just found out there are rooms, but I suspect those are good too. Pretty nice place!
