Holly Lodge

Holly Lodge worked perfectly for us, with a bus into town nearby for when we didn't feel like walking, and cafes close by too. There's parking on site, which was a bonus. Geoff was very accommodating when we arrived after 8pm. Our room was huge and lovely, with a comfortable bed and just-right heaters. We'd definitely come back to York and stay here again.

We picked Holly Lodge on a last-minute whim and were glad we did. The building and room were beautiful, and we could park the car there. Everything was walkable, with the bus stop right outside as another option. Geoff and his partner made us feel welcome and communicated well. The price was great too. We'll definitely return.

After our first accommodation turned out to be awful, I had to find somewhere else in a hurry. Holly Lodge was a great choice. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and I was always glad to get back there at the end of the day. The owner was friendly and took good care of his guests. He honestly turned my York trip into a holiday I'll remember fondly. If I come back, I'll definitely try to book here again.

Geoff, the owner, was lovely and really friendly. The room was stunning, almost like staying in a National Trust property. Holly Lodge has on-site parking and a great spot for getting into the city centre: it's a 15-minute walk along the river, which feels like stepping back in time, or 12 minutes by bus, with the stop right outside. We'll definitely return, and I'd recommend staying here.
