My fiancé and I stayed there in October 2009, and when we eventually return to York, we'll stay there again. Bruce was an amazing host, so welcoming and hospitable, even though our visit was quite a while ago. The rooms were exceptionally clean and the food was to die for. Bruce's American waffles were just the best. Five stars doesn't feel like enough. Well worth it all.

The host is so friendly and the service is more than excellent. He even gives gifts at the end of the stay and tips on how to get into York Minster for free. If you're going to York, you should stay at this hotel. I'd definitely recommend it.
