Student Castle York

The location makes life so much easier: it’s close to the town centre and right by Lidl, Morrisons and B&M. The staff are lovely, great at what they do, and always helpful and welcoming. The facilities are great, everything is well looked after and consistently clean, and it really does feel like a home away from home. And a special shoutout to Oreo, the residential cat. He’s the cutest and makes living here even better 🥹 I’ve stayed in five different student accommodations around the UK, and this is hands down the best one I’ve lived in. It’s the most expensive, but 100% worth it. You really do get what you pay for, and I honestly couldn’t recommend it more if you’re looking at places in York!

The room was in great shape, and the stay was lovely value for money. We spent three nights here and found the staff really friendly and helpful. We'd happily return, and I'd recommend it to students coming to York, even for a short visit since shorter stays are available. One small oddity: although we booked for two, there was cutlery and crockery for just one person. There was no baking parchment either, so bring supplies like that if you plan to cook.

The rooms are comfortable and spacious, and the service is really good. Lorenza and anabeth at reception are fantastic and always make me feel welcome. I love living at student castle. It's the best, and I highly recommend it.

Moving in felt welcoming: the staff were helpful and arranged an evening social so people could meet. That made it easier not to feel left out of freshers even though the accommodation is off campus. The location is great for students, close to the centre, supermarkets, cafes, shops and nightlife. The university is a 25-minute walk away, and there's a bus stop right outside with a direct route there.
