The Parisi Hotel

The beautiful garden was a pleasure to sit in during the evenings, and it's hard to believe the Minster is only a few minutes' walk away. We were delighted with every part of our stay in this wonderful apartment. The exquisite interiors and all the little details had been thought through for guests, making it a complete pleasure. Many thanks to our exceptional hosts.

There isn't a bar, but if you bring your own drinks they'll provide glassware, ice and ice buckets. Weather permitting, there's also a lovely garden to sit in. It's a beautiful small boutique hotel, kept clean and smart, with the best staff you could wish for. Every one of them was smiling, helpful and ready to go beyond their duties. No request seemed too much trouble. The little touches made a difference too: fresh flowers around the building, breakfast cooked to order, and tea, milk, water and biscuits replenished in the room every day.

Parking isn't on site. It's about a 5 minute drive away, but vouchers cover the cost for 24 hours per night of your stay. It's not the cheapest place to stay in York, though for a treat I doubt you could do much better. We'd gladly return. The city centre is about a 5 minute walk, with independent shops, bars and restaurants just around the corner. Staff were among the best we've encountered at a hotel, friendly and helpful without being formal or overbearing. The communal areas and our room were beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the lounge and garden, and had tea and coffee facilities in the room with a good choice of drinks. The delicious breakfast set us up perfectly for the day. A lovely place, with small details that made a difference.

We had a wonderful stay. The rooms and the atmosphere throughout the place were beautiful, and we enjoyed a hot outdoor bath, too.
