I had everything I needed and really enjoyed my stay. The room had its own tea and coffee setup and ensuite, and the shower was hot and powerful. Downstairs there’s a shared kitchen and seating area, plus a tea and coffee machine guests can use for free. There’s a nice Viking theme down there, too. I’d recommend it and would return.

Good value for one night, and I’d stay again if the price was right. Room 8 is clean, pretty and more spacious than expected, with skylight windows, a coffee machine and a kettle. It’s up on the top floor in the attic, though, and the very narrow stairs to the third floor are tricky. There’s no hall or kitchen here like at Vikings.

The Manager was friendly and helpful, and the accommodation is well placed for a trip into town. It worked fine for a quick night away. I could have used extra towels, and the mattress needs replacing or a decent topper, as I could feel every spring. Parking costs extra for a permit.

Vikings accommodation is about a lovely ten minute walk from the city centre, which made planning and booking things to do in York easy, and the walk back after a long day was short. The owner’s service was excellent. My room was really clean and comfortable, and I couldn’t have asked for better. Highly recommend staying here.

The owner was very friendly and helpful, and the place is quiet despite being close to the city centre. We booked one night because my wife had an early medical procedure at the hospital, which turned out to be very close by. The bedroom was warm and comfortable, and the ensuite was excellent. We found it good value, better than many hotels we’ve stayed in, and would happily recommend it.
