The Waie Inn

Our family of 20 booked Sunday lunch to celebrate my sister's 50th wedding anniversary, and it turned into a really disappointing day. We were put in the skittles alley, which was fine, but the service was very slow and my roast pork was the worst roast I've ever had. It tasted like cheap, overprocessed food. The sticky toffee pudding was okay, at least. We won't be coming back.

The rooms were good, including the family rooms, and the place was very clean and reasonably priced. My sister got married here on 31.10.2025, and Sue was brilliant throughout. She was always there when we needed her, answered our questions, and went above and beyond. Such an amazing venue.

Sue and her staff were there whenever we needed help and couldn't have done more for us. They made the whole day run smoothly, without a single hiccup. I recently got married at this amazing venue. Thank you, Sue.

We returned a dish to the bar and were met with visible hostility. A staff member shrugged and raised their voice, then one of the owners came down and challenged us further. At first there was no apology, just, “If you don’t like it, you don’t like it.” We only got an apology and an offer of a free drink after a long discussion with the owner. It was a disappointing experience, especially after our family had known and supported this venue for around 50 years. It's a nice place, so it's a real shame that standards seem to have slipped given its history.
