Apartment Chavchavadze

There’s plenty of room for a family, and the hosts are friendly. The apartment has what you need.

It’s well set up if you like cooking for yourself and want to feel at home. There’s all sorts of useful stuff, even a kids’ table and potty. The renovation is fresh, and the apartment was very clean. Four towels were provided, which was handy. It’s about 10-15 minutes from the beach, and the quiet courtyard meant we slept well at night. The hostess was lovely and very welcoming. She got in touch ahead of time by phone and WhatsApp, and we spoke in Russian. She arranged a nighttime airport pickup and let us check in early and check out late. I’d recommend it.

The owner was very responsive, and I especially want to thank her. The location is excellent, and the balcony is nice. The beds are queen-size, but the sheets felt unpleasantly scratchy. Street noise came through at night because the balcony doors didn’t close tightly. The bathroom was damp, with leaky plumbing and poor lighting. Some furniture could use an update. One closet is very old, and I worried it might snag my clothes.

We had no trouble checking in, and the photos on Booking.com looked fine. But the apartment was cold and damp, with barely working radiators. The windows whistled, and street noise came through. The walls were cracked and chipped, the plumbing leaked, and the air smelled musty. The towel was old and dirty, nowhere near white. The bedding and mattress were in poor shape, the linens old and cheap, and the blankets thin. The crib they brought for our child was chipped and worn too. Its linens were old, and they gave us a thin throw instead of a proper blanket. I really don’t understand how this can be offered to guests. Thanks to the hostess for being kind and understanding, and for letting us leave peacefully without making a scene.
