Aura Boutique Hotel

We were in Batumi for a competition with our national team, and our stay at the hotel went badly. Several things in the room were broken, and during our six days there the staff never changed the sheets. The food was only okay. Kazakhstan’s national team was also staying there, and we were the only guests at the time. One evening our competition ran late. We had asked them to wait, but dinner wasn’t kept for us. On checkout day we left our bags in a room at the hotel and went on a trip. When we came back, we had only an hour before our flight. As we were heading to the bus, staff stopped us and accused us of breaking a window. We tried to show we hadn’t done it, but we were already running late, so our team leader paid a 750 lari fine so we could catch the plane. It felt like an obvious scam. They called the police, whose officer wasn’t in a regular uniform, just a T-shirt with “police” on the back. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The food selection was limited, and one day after we’d all come back late from the competition, they didn’t serve us dinner even though we’d told them we’d be late. We were in Batumi for a sports event with another group from Kazakhstan, and the hotel experience was terrible. Half the things in our room were broken, and the bedsheets weren’t clean. They weren’t changed at all during our six-day stay. When we raised it with the staff, they refused to move us and only tried to fix one of the things. Just before we had to leave for the airport on the last day, staff blamed us for a broken window. It was very heavy and impossible for us to move. We showed them a photo from our first day proving the window was already broken, but still had to pay, or risk missing our flight home. The staff were extremely rude, and their behavior made the whole thing seem like a setup.

The location is lovely, just a few meters from the sea, and the food really stood out. I had the most delicious Adjarian Khachapuri in all of Batumi, and they invited me right away to the Cafe to try their delicious coffee and Adjarian desserts. The staff were wonderful, always smiling and happy to help. They treated every guest like a blessing, and the rooms were clean and comfortable with great service. The hotel had only opened about a month earlier, but everything about it impressed me. It’s the most beautiful, heartwarming hotel I’ve seen. Thanks for the care, and good luck to them!

When we complained, they wouldn’t let us change rooms and only attempted to fix the shower. Right before we left for the airport, staff accused a few people on our team of breaking a window. It was so heavy and difficult to move that we couldn’t have broken it. We showed them a photo from the first day where it was already broken, but still had to pay so we wouldn’t miss our flight home. The staff were extremely rude, and their behavior made the window accusation feel like a setup.
