Batumi Tennis Club

This place has an official historical badge as a tennis court, with more than 8 playing courts and a small sports hotel nearby on the grounds. Training goes on every day, whatever the season. In summer peak season, the huge area also hosts Georgia's biggest festivals, concerts, and gigs. Black Sea Jazz festival happens here every year. Artists including Jamiroquai, Busta rhymes, Snoop, and Joss Stone have performed here, among others, during the last two years. When it's set up for the lineup, expect a great experience with music, service, and fun. You can see the court's transformation in the pictures.

The courts could use renovation, but it's still a fun place to play tennis, right by the beach and Batumi Boulevard.

There are eight courts. Five were recently renovated, and the other three were completely renovated this year and are in perfect condition. The first group rents for 30 lari an hour, and the second for 30 lari. There's a cafe on site, plus lockers, a shower, and a toilet. Just be prepared: there's no toilet paper, and you have to rent a towel.

The courts are in awful shape. I haven't played on tennis courts this poorly maintained in years. If resurfacing isn't possible, they should at least install nets to stop stray balls bouncing somewhere hard to retrieve.
