I stayed one night in December, when it was off season, and paid about $20 for a small private room. It was quiet then, with only two or three other guests around, though I imagine summer is different. The room was smaller than a typical chain hotel room but clean and nicely furnished. There’s a common kitchen just outside it, which I didn’t use, but it looked tidy too. Several nice cafes and restaurants are within a couple hundred meters, on the east side of the main tourist area. For that price I wasn’t expecting much and was pleasantly surprised. I’d stay again if I get back to Batumi in summer.
