The location is the main thing going for Batu Hotel. The rest didn't live up to expectations: there were no shower curtains or cabins in the bathrooms, and the rooms weren't very clean, which raised hygiene concerns. Drinking water wasn't provided, so we had to buy it ourselves. It was also around 7-8 ₾ pricier than Piazza Hotel, which seems a better option if it's available. I'd avoid staying here unless necessary, with the location as its only plus in an unexpected situation.

Checkout was supposed to be at 11:00 AM, but nobody told us. We thought it was 12:00 PM, and the cleaning staff yelled at us even though we hadn't said anything to them. The staff were rude in general. There was black mold in the bathroom and the faucet was broken. Terrible hotel, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Find somewhere better.

The area is nice and the balcony is large. The hotel itself seemed reasonably cozy at first, but things feel flimsy, with tiles coming loose and a terrible shower. There's trash under the windows, and it gets emptied at 6 a.m. The staff were extremely rude and insolent. I don't recommend the place, mainly because that obvious rudeness is unacceptable.
