Hotel Maria

The owners were caring and really helpful, answering every question and helping with anything we asked. Our room was clean and nicely designed, and the food tasted fresh and very good. The hotel is in a peaceful spot near the center. I'm sure I'll come back.

There wasn't a chair or any hangers in the closet. I had paid extra for breakfast through the booking site, then found out it didn't start until 9:30 am. I needed to catch an earlier bus, and the host said there was nothing he could do. I couldn't do anything about the one star I gave the hotel either.

Attention to detail is what's missing here. I booked through a tourist agency that described it as four-star, but to me it barely reached three. It's family-run, though not very efficiently, and the location wasn't good for me. I eventually moved to another hotel even though I'd paid for this one. On the first day I was given a small box room, not the room I'd paid for. There was hardly anyone at reception, and no bell to get their attention. The room had no safe, no telephone to call reception, and no bedside lamps. There was a desk but no chair, and the few plug sockets were awkwardly placed. The bathroom bin was broken, there was no wastebasket in the main room, and some electrical wiring was unfinished. Breakfast was hit and miss. It was okay at first, but on my last day it felt like they couldn't be bothered. I think they had few guests that day, but that's no excuse. Maybe my expectations and standards are high, but read the glowing reviews carefully.

We spent two nights here and liked how quiet it was, while still being not too far from the city. For some reason, none of the taxi drivers could find the place easily 😅😅. Anyway, thanks for the hotel service.
