Hotel Tabi

The location is the hotel's only real advantage. The breakfast was good, but the room and service fell short. They asked us to use tap water from the bathroom instead of providing bottled water, which feels like a basic necessity. Payment was also taken in advance, unlike hotels where you pay at checkout, and we had no choice but to stay. Support from staff depended on who was working that shift.

The rooms look nice and the hotel is only a few meters from the center, but our March stay was miserable in the cold. It was still freezing outside, often below zero, and the heating barely worked. The hot water took a while to come through, then ran out about three minutes into a shower. My friends had the same problem in their room, and getting out into the freezing room was awful. We asked the owner for help. He rushed around the room and gave us an electric heater, which we used in the lobby while we gathered there to warm up. It made the space warm until it broke. Then we split up and hurried under our blankets before losing that warmth. In the morning, it was warmer outside in the sun than in the hotel, so we got out as soon as we could. The owner seemed rushed when we first called and made us feel as if we were asking too much. When he came the next day, he asked why we hadn't called again. We explained that the way he hurried and asked if he could leave hadn't made us feel welcome to call about the heating and water problems. I'd only recommend staying here in summer. With serious repairs to the heating and water, it could be a 5+ place.

The people are great and the location is really good. The facilities could use some renovation, but for the price the quality is excellent overall.

My worst hotel experience so far. I booked a room for two people two days ahead, and the hotel confirmed it. When I arrived at about 8:30 pm, there was nowhere to park near the hotel, and reception told me they had no room for me. They sent me to another hotel 15 minutes away, giving me only an address and no name. That place had no rooms either, and they knew nothing about the arrangement. By the time I got back to Tabi, reception had closed. I got no refund or anything. Be careful booking here, and don't pay in advance.
