Our honeymoon was badly affected by being moved after just two nights in the hotel. This was described as an βupgrade,β but the accommodation we got was much worse: a so-called apartment in a nearby residential building, apparently meant for long-term stays. It was nowhere near suitable for a honeymoon, and the bed was so uncomfortable that I woke up sore every day and could barely sleep. We had booked through Rainbow based on Ira Palace Hotelβs official photos, reviews, and standards, and had even paid Rainbow to extend our holiday at the hotel. The hotel staff said Rainbow had arranged the relocation, while Rainbow and the hotel staff both ignored our complaint. If Rainbow made that decision, the hotel should clarify it with them directly. We didn't want to spend the rest of our holiday arguing about it, but we won't let the matter go. We can't recommend Ira Palace Hotel after this experience.

The room was so tight that with our bags open, there was barely room to move around the bed. At least the bathroom was roomy, and it even had a bidet, though the bidet didn't work. The building itself was fine, but service let us down: there was no hot water one evening, and after I asked for it to be turned on, problems continued and I had to wait until the next day. I booked through Booking.com with breakfast included, but reception initially denied it. I had to insist several times that breakfast was part of the reservation and the reason I chose it before they added it. Breakfast was just alright. I'm sure there are better places to stay.

The location worked well, though the place could use some improvement. I was let down by the breakfast, and there was damage in the room corners hidden behind the cupboards. One of the shower wheels broke halfway through.

The bigger second room had a lovely view, unlike the first one, which was tiny. The low price made the small room acceptable, though. Finding a cockroach in the room was unsettling, and I hope they clean more thoroughly. πππ

The hotel is in a great spot, and My Batumi restaurant is only a three-minute walk away. The room was huge, gorgeous, and very clean, but the bathroom was awful. It looked really dirty, and the shower drained painfully slowly. I still get nightmares about how nasty it was. We had to ask for toilet paper and fresh towels, and the cleaners seemed annoyed. The staff felt really lazy. At night the room was cold, and I woke up feeling a bit off. The blanket is thin, so bring an extra layer to sleep in. A metal piece on the floor was sticking out and stabbed my foot. WiFi: 6/10 Breakfast: 4/10 Bathroom tidiness: 2/10 Room tidiness: 9/10
