Prime Hotel

Prime Hotel is in a great spot in the city center, close to almost all the tourist attractions. There's no coastal view, which seems to be reserved in part for more premium properties, but the road to the hotel is in good shape with no potholes. A rental car could be helpful. The rooms are well priced, and I had a mostly pleasant stay, though there are things they could improve. The room had a smart TV, mini-fridge, AC, electric kettle, clothes cabinet, and bathroom. It was clean enough, and the beds seemed clean, but the linen came loose overnight. The blanket was more like a thin sheet. When we asked for a proper blanket, we were given another thin sheet. The power outlets were inconveniently placed across the room by the TV, not near the bed. The bathroom was clean and had the needed amenities, but no bidet. Room cleaning was offered every two days or on request if cleaning staff were available. The cleaning could be better: the rooms were only marginally clean, and the mop smelled damp and rancid, with no cleaning agent used. Breakfast was basic. My request was for halal food only, and the staff were friendly and happy to accommodate it. What I got included cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, sliced cheese, and boiled eggs, with local jam, yogurt, and English cake on a lucky day. There might be more choices if you don't make that request. The hotel has free parking for rental cars and a Spar mini-market inside. Wi-Fi is free, but don't expect it to be very fast. Speed varied with the number of guests and time of day. There isn't a pool, spa, or massage service. The staff were a mixed bag. George, who I think was the manager, was extremely friendly, polite, and attentive. Mikhail wasn't especially friendly or welcoming. We didn't really interact with the other staff, though they seemed friendly. The rates were excellent. Unless Booking, Agora, or another site is offering you a deal you think is great, I'd suggest talking price directly with the hotel staff when you arrive. All in all, I found Prime Hotel comfortable enough for a pleasant stay, though there's room for improvement.
