We had to move to another hotel after just one night. I was there with colleagues and we had two rooms, both really dirty. The sheets looked used and had hair and sand on them. The host said they’d been changed, but after seeing the rooms he brought us a set that had been washed. He didn’t even apologize. The bathroom wasn’t properly cleaned either, with stains in the corners.

There’s no lift, and it was really noisy. No one was around to help us carry our luggage up four flights of stairs.

The rooms are nicely renovated and the city center location is handy, with grocery shops close by and the waterfront within walking distance. But the windows face nearby residential buildings, so opening the curtains or balcony door, or stepping onto the balcony, feels very uncomfortable and unsafe. I couldn’t sleep because the mattress springs dug into me. The iron barely got warm either, so my clothes stayed wrinkled.

The beach, cafes, shops, and main sights are all easy to reach on foot. For the price, it’s a decent hotel, with a spacious, clean room, fresh linens, and nice furniture.

NO BREAKFAST AND NO ELEVATOR. The website said breakfast was free, but there wasn’t any. We showed the receptionist what the Riva Hotel website said, and they tried to call someone, but didn’t seem to know who they were calling. We had to find breakfast in Batumi ourselves. There’s also a lot of traffic noise in the rooms. I got up at night to make sure the windows were shut, but it still sounded as if there were no windows at all. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend this place.
